EMSOFT was started three years ago with focus on principles of embedded software development and aims at covering all aspects of embedded software. Topics of Interest - System design and integration methodologies - Programming languages and software engineering - Operating systems and scheduling - Hardware/software interfaces and system-level design - Models of computation and formal methods - Compilers and execution time analysis - Networked embedded systems - Sensor networks and distributed wireless architectures - Hardware/software co-design and systems-on-chip - Middleware and QoS management - Applications and case studies (e.g., in control and multimedia) The proceedings of the conference will be published by ACM. Selected papers will be invited after the meeting to submit an extended version to a special issue of ACM Transactions on Embedded Computing Systems. A number of satellite workshops on specific topics will be organized the day before the conference and will be announced later. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Keynote Speakers --------------------------------------------------------------------- Nevin Heintze – Agere Systems, USA Alan Kay – HP, USA Richard Newton – University of California at Berkeley, USA Krithi Ramamritham – IIT Bombay, India Hideyuki Tokuda – Keio University, Japan --------------------------------------------------------------------- Instructions for Submission --------------------------------------------------------------------- Submitted papers must present original research, which is unpublished and not submitted elsewhere.
